In-Home Tutoring Program
Language barriers and loneliness are often two of the greatest challenges faced by refugees new to our city. Our in-home tutoring program matches trained volunteers (ages 18 and up) with newly arrived refugees. These tutors visit a refugee family weekly for one-on-one English practice. Volunteer tutors are often a newly arrived refugee’s first friends in Chicago, and refugees enable local Chicagoans to see their city and the world through new eyes. The relationships formed through this program are life-changing for both the learner and the tutor! If you are interested in volunteering with this program, contact our ESL tutor coordinator at email@example.com
