What is the application process?
From application to placement, the process takes 4 - 6 weeks.
Here are the steps: 1) application, 2) orientation, 3) interview, 4) background check, and 5) placement.
How do I apply?
Submit your application by sending it to Becca Sheehy at RSheehy@wr.org. Please avoid sending paper applications if possible. Please familiarize yourself thoroughly with our Opportunities and FAQ pages before filling out an application. Within 1 week of submission, a staff member will reach out to you about volunteering. If your application has been approved, you will be invited to orientation.

We encourage people to submit their application and wait for approval before attending orientation.
What about the interview?
Our interviews are typically conducted over the phone and take about 20 minutes. This is a good opportunity for us to get to know you and make sure we're a good fit!
When do I complete a background check?
You will be given background check paperwork after your interview. We require a criminal background check for all volunteers, and a motor vehicle check for those who may drive clients in their personal vehicles. This check takes 1-2 weeks upon submission.
