“My story is a novel,” Imrana said with a laugh. “A huge novel. And every person I’ve met on my journey has played a part.” Imrana—originally from Pakistan—spent four years as a single mother and refugee in Malaysia before being resettled in the United States.  When she and her son, Abdullah, moved to Chicago, you—as a community of donors and volunteers—were there to support them. Thanks in part to your support, Imrana now owns her own salon.
